Chief Executive of the Alabama State Port Authority Jimmie Lyons said the facility has received about $500,000 in federal grant money for port security.
About 140 CCTV camera’s keep an eye on what’s happening on Alabama’s state docks. Those cameras, in the past, have stopped criminals in their tracks.
Now, through a federal grant, those CCTV cameras will be upgraded. The advanced technology will a keep an eye on intruders trying to jump the fences and will alert operators if something is moved out of place.
Since 9/11, federal law requires that all marine terminals dealing with international trade have to be secured. Lyons said Alabama has one the best security plans in the country and the new CCTV cameras will make it even better.

FIXING and maintaining the city’s 220 security cameras will be out-sourced as part of a £5 million upgrade.
Cabinet members have approved plans to look for a company to maintain its cameras as part of a £90,000-per-year deal.
Stoke-on-Trent City Council is spending £1 million upgrading its security camera network to digital, as well as £4.4 million on a new control room and data centre.
As the upgrade means the cameras will be more complicated to maintain, the council said it will be cheaper to privatise the service.

Hidden spy cameras are becoming more popular than ever before. Part of the reason is because they have become more inexpensive and much easier to use and hook up.
A hidden spy camera is simply a
board camera hidden inside a common household or office item making it impossible to know you are being recorded. Some have built in DVR’s. Almost all are actual working products to carry out the deception.
These are very specialized products and you don’t find them on every street corner. As a matter of fact you can hardly find them on any street corner.
The best place to find them is online under ‘spy cameras’ or ‘hidden spy cameras’. Then decide which distributor is going to be able to answer your questions and give you good customer service.

If you have two or more surveillance cameras with USB connectors, you can plug up to each of them into one computer using USB port expanders without a standalone video server.
How you present and distribute the video depends on the video editing or distribution software on your computer. You can manage all cameras’ images and send them to your computer monitor or an external projector, depending on your video output hardware, or you can send images to a network or the Internet via your Ethernet connection. Internet video conferencing often uses surveillance cameras without standalone video servers.

Along with the increasing sophistication of digital video compressive technology, embedded video surveillance, like web camera is going for the main trend among the surveillance field.
Increasing systematic functions and changeable programming environment with previous demand analysis and imperfect design lead to high difficulty in maintaining and upgrading system. In terms of varied problems, such as low reusage in software’s, instability of
wifi IP camera network transmission and the diversity of bandwidth, construction of applications based on components would be best means to solve these problems.
Embedded monitoring system falls into three parts —-acquisition device for field data, embedded web-server and remote monitoring host. Acquisition device for field data is in charge of collecting field data and normally transmitting them via some protocol. Then, embedded web server collect and issue the field data. Web server components are the basics for realization of TCP and IP. Monitoring host realize the goal of remote monitoring through Ethernet with wireless network.
The design of components needs to be considered. The design of componentization is based on the system mode and component mode. Standardization is the premise to compatibility of all components apt to be reused. In this case, IP camera can realize its functions based on WIFI.
